    The development of fluency in the oral activity is an important asset for the, acquisition, comprehension and final application of both the mother tongue and a foreign language. Thus, looking for the best ways to introduce the language contents in the classroom would make the students effectively use it in in–school and out-school contexts. The current paper presents ―A proposal for developing oral fluency in English through the Multiple Intelligences Theory application in sophomore students of Informatics at the University of Cienfuegos‖. The main aim of this research is to elaborate a proposal of tasks for developing oral fluency in speaking skills in sophomore students of Informatics at the University of Cienfuegos. In order to carry out this task, a set of theoretical, empirical and mathematical research methods were applied. Their application allowed the researcher to analyze, conclude and provide theoretical analysis of the information about the development of speaking skills in English in a fluent way, as well as modelling the tasks the paper presents. It also provides a wide perspective on the use Multiple Intelligences in favour of learning and use of English-as-a-foreignlanguage in a contextualised and professional context.

    The role of cognate and false cognate words in vocabulary learning. A Proposal of Exercises for High School 9th graders

    Knowledge of vocabulary together with grammar is the basis of a language mastering, but many times foreign language students face troubles getting the necessary amount of words as to be able to communicate fluently. This paper focuses on a proposal of exercises based on cognate and false cognate words to facilitate vocabulary learning in 9th grade at “Luis Perez Lozano” ESBU. During the author´s practice at this school, the author noticed that students lack the necessary vocabulary to establish the communication required by the grade objectives. The exercises proposed are focused mainly on the use of cognate and false cognate words used in the contrastive analysis of languages to favor English vocabulary learning. The research statement is supported on the principles of the integration of qualitative and quantitative techniques during the diagnosis of the problem and the validation of the proposal. The value criteria suggest that the proposal is adequate to favor students´ English vocabulary learning.

    A bilingual glossary of technical terms for students of Accounting at the University of Cienfuegos

    Lexicographic tools offer many advantages to those people who study a language as foreign or second language and for specific purposes, allowing them to appropriately use accounting textbooks written in English language, which undoubtedly support the process of a language teaching and learning process and which is crucial nowadays when the English with Specific Purposes vocabulary in English should be taught in every of the core subjects of each university degree and to some extent should be approached by professors who instruct students in their extracurricular general English course face2face. The aforesaid is the main the reason for which this paper presents the design of a bilingual glossary of technical terms for students of Accounting of the University of Cienfuegos as a referential guidance for these students, as well as for professors of general English courses when teaching the vocabulary of this course in their classes. To accomplish the objective of this research, it has been extracted from internet, 404 texts corpus composed by textbooks, journal articles, and newspaper articles, which have been processed by the corpus analysis toolkit AntCont, from which headwords have been extracted to compile the bilingual glossary.
